Abstract
A razor 10, which may be disposable, has a handle 11 and a head 12 with at least one razor blade 13. The handle has chambers 17 respectively detachable at 18 and containing soap material e.g. gel or cream. The handle may be squeezable to cause the material to leave the handle. The soap material may be in sachets 15 detachably connected to the razor by frangible means 16.
Description
RAZORS
THIS INVENTION relates to razors.
According to this invention a razor comprises a container for a supply of soap for shaving.
The container may be detachably connected to the razor.
The container may form part of a handle of the razor.
There may be more than one container.
The supply may be in a hollow portion of a handle of the razor with a removable or openable cap for allowing egress of the soap.
The handle may comprise a flexible portion which can be squeezed to cause liquid soap to emerge from a closable aperture in the razor e.g. in the handle.
There may be soap in the container.
The invention may be performed in various ways and one specific embodiment with possible modifications will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawing which shows a razor.
A razor 10 has a handle 11 and a head 12 at one end of the handle 11. The head 12 houses one or more razor blades 13 which may be fixed, and the razor be disposable, or replaceable.
In the present case the razor 10 is in combination with a supply of shaving soap, which term is intended to include gel and possibly foam. The soap would normally be a liquid but could be a solid for use with a brush.
The soap could be in a sachet 15 or other container connected, for example, to a side of the handle 11 or the top or upper face of the head 12 by a frangible connection 16.
Preferably the soap is contained in the handle which may include one or more hollow detachable portions 17 each containing a supply of soap sufficient for one shave, similar to sachet 15.
A frangible or weakened region 18 may be provided to enable the portions or compartments 17 to be detached as required e.g. by snapping or twisting.
In some cases the soap may include a foaming agent.
In a modification the end region 20 of the handle is hollow with a removable or openable sealing cap 21 to enable the soap to be removed from the region 20 for use in shaving.
The invention can be used in both disposable and permanent razors. The handle in one example is supplied with or filled with a foam gel/liquid soap from an aerosol can similar to those used in the filling of cigarette lighters. The gel/liquid soap could be removed out of the handle by means of a screw cap outlet either by gravity or by incorporating a softer type of plastics within the handle in order that the gel/soap could be squeezed out by squeezing the flexible plastics. Various shaped handles for example as used on permanent razors are suitable.
Claims (8)
1. A razor comprising a container for a supply of soap for shaving.
2. A razor as claimed in Claim 1, in which the container is detachable.
3. A razor as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, in which the container is part of a handle.
4. A razor as claimed in any preceding claim, comprising a plurality of said containers.
5. A razor as claimed in Claim 1, in which the container is squeezable for causing egress of the soap from the container.
6. A razor as claimed in Claim 5, in which the container forms part of a handle.
7. A razor as claimed in any preceding claim, including soap in the container.
8. A razor substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
