Abstract

An electronic money transfer system comprising a radio transmitter 1 with very short range, a micro-processor 2, a key pad or switch data entry system 3 and a radio receiver 4. The device may come in the form of a calculator, device worn on a wrist band , ring or pendant. Or it may be incorporated into any other electronic equipment. In addition there being a removeable or permanent memory card 5, and an electronically sensative screen 6 onto which a signature may be written for identification purposes or to be sent to other similar machines in the course of transactions.

RADIO ELECTRONIC MONEY TRANSFER SYSTEM
This invention relates to an electronic radio money transfer system.
Some years ago, back in about 1986, I wrote to Barclays Bank and suggested that we had a " CASHLESS SOCIETY " based upon the wider use of credit cards etc. With regret this has not come to pass even so there may now be the opportunity for another go at this idea with this invention should the financial According to the present invention there is a very short range radio transmitter ( having only the range of a few yards) unit 1 connected to a micro-processor 2, this being linked to a radio receiver 4 and there also being an operating switch or key pad entry system 3.
When the user goes to say an ATM equiped with a version of this device by pressing certain keys on the key pad the user may access his account to check his balance and then perhaps draw some funds out by activating some keys on the key pad to effect an electronic money transfer by short range radio. The amount of money transfered being held in the micro-processors memory. Later then the user may make a purchase in a shop ate again activating certain keys on the key pad and having the unit electronically send funds to the version of the same machine that the shop has.
The advantage of this system over a credit or debit card is that 2 users could exchange funds between their two units with no swipe card system being needed. A further advantage is that to top up with funds you would not need an expensive conventional ATM machine just an inexpensive banks version of this device.
There may also be a removeable or permanent memory card 5 where details of the amount held by the machine may be kept with no battery power being required to hold this information.
Then there may be a credit card sized electronically sensative screen 6 onto which a signature may be written which may then be transferee to other similar devices to confirm a transaction.
