Abstract
A coffee pot, which has a base plate used for the scrape cleaning out of residue after use. The pot consists of a plunger which fits over a tube; at the base of which is a base plate connected to the tube. Internal to the tube is a pin which is able to depress controls allowing the base plate to hinge, and by doing so no longer support any material resting on it. This assemblage is connected, and attached to a lid which seals the coffee pot. The pin is activated by manual control, as is the sealing of the coffee pot and spout.

The Description
Coffee Pot Assembly At present some designs of coffee pots generally consist of a pot, a plunger & a lid.
Ground coffee is placed In the pot, a little water IS added, and mixed With the grinds, a balance of the water IS added to fill the pot as required by personal taste. The mixture in the pot is left for around four minutes, and a plunger depressed to separate the brew from the residue. Before re-use the pot must be cleaned of used coffee particles This design of pot IS Intended to facilitate the cleaning of a pot, after use. (General Design Fig. 6) This design is intended for coffee or tea pots, or any other pot used for making brews that require water and an organic portion of particles to be infused; wherein coffee and water are mixed in a pot and left to infuse for a small penod of time before drinking.
Coffee pots are used in this description but the design refers to any such pot used for the brewing drinks, wherein
there is a residue of grinds, solids or particles that need to be cleaned from the pot before re-use. Hereafter only the example of coffee will be used.
This design is of a type of coffee pot which allows ease of cleaning, the main features include three plates connected perpendicularly along concentric telescopic tubes. (The three different sized plates as per Figure 12)
The plates insert into a coffee-pot, allowing coffee and water to be inserted between the base plate & the middle plate.
As per (Figure 9) The top plate forms a lid, the middle plate depresss'coffee Infusion material'and the third plate lays at rest on the base of coffee-pot The concentnc pipes fit through a sealed hole central to the lid. (As per figure 10) The top plate (lid) forms a seal with the internal diameter of the coffeepot nm, as pre-molded wedges are depressed into the circumference of the lid pressing the lid outwards against the coffeepot (As per figure 12) A plate may be pressed over the spout aperture depressing a lid over a pots sealed spout preventing the pouring of liquid until desired. (As per Figure 8)
The coffee pot is secured into a frame which provides the handle for the pot, the pot complete with spout and lid seals will inhibit leakage if the pot is inverted. (As per figure 6) This specification details a design for a type'Coffee Pot' ; the ground coffee being placed inside and water being poured into the pot to infuse. The man purpose of the design is to allow a user to conveniently clean and easily remove coffee grinds after use of the pot The initial deaning is preformed by pulling out the lid/plate assemblage which scrapes out coffee/particle residue. (Figures 10 & Figure 4) The coffee pot design is intended to be made in non-insulated and insulated materials, including ! or exclusively plastics, glass, ceramic or'food grade'metal. The tolerances of the plates & pipes and assemblages should be sufficient to prevent leakage. Meshes integral to the plates allow infusion of the coffee & water. (As per Figure 9) The internal'coffee-pot'plates are connected ; by concentric linked tubes ; the lower most plate is hinged, and fitted with a fine mesh. The hinge causes the plate to be perpendicular to the pipes in its normal rest position. (As per figures 1 to 5) The intended use of the hinge is that when the coffee plate assemblage is removed from the pot, the assemblage may be positioned over a bin, and by depressing a pin on the lid of the plate assemblage, the hinge restraint is released allowing the used coffee to fall freely into the bin. (As per figure 4) The next plate is attached to a tube which slides freely along the length of the next innermost concentric tube ; this plate may be locked in place at vanous positions, and may position sufficiently clear of the coffee pot top Up to allow coffee to be placed into the pot on top of the bottom plate There is a top plate which forms a lid, presses down on top of the coffee pot top rim, depressing as it does the middle plate. The top plate fits snuggly into the internal diameter of the coffee-pot This is a bar over the hinged spout ( Figures 8 & 9).
The top of the lid is a piece of material designed to contour to a human thumb, pressing the material fully forward will press a bar over the spout portion of the molded lid. Pressing the material half forward will press wedges into the sides of the lid, pressing the lids diameter against the internal diameter of the coffee pot
Claims (11)
- Claims 1 A coffee pot design for the brewing of coffee by infusing water with ground coffee, which allows the residue of ground coffee to be removed, en masse after use by the removal of a plate assemblage.
- 2 A coffee pot design which presses the ground coffee particles using as supported fine meshes to press and to segregate the coffee particles, from coffeelwater infusion.
- 3 A coffee pot design which presses the ground coffee particles using as supported fine meshes to press and to segregate the coffee particles, from coffee/water infusion, allowing the plates to be separated to pre-set measured distances.
- 4 A coffee pot design which has concentric pipes, which slide past each other to allow the component parts of the coffee pot to be activated independently
- 5 A coffee pot which comprises of a base plate which, a plate for pressing solids towards the base-plate, and a lid. The base plate being used to scrape particle out of the coffee pot container after use.
- 6 A lid which has a segmented plasticed seal, extending downwards into the inside diameter of the coffee pot., which allows wedges inserted form the lid to be inserted, causing a plasticisedlrubber rim to be pressed outwards from the lid to the inside diameter of the pot causing a'seal'to occur.
- 7 A lid which has'arms'which may pressed between the segment of the plastidsed lid, pressing parts of the lid outwards forming a tight seal.
- 8 A lid which covers the'spout of the coffee pot this part which covers the spout of the coffee pot is hinged and has a ptastiosed rubber rim to act as a seal. The hinged part of the lid has a bar fixed lying across the hinge which may be moved, and repositioned to cause the spout to be locked in an'open'or'closed' position.
- 9 A coffee pot, the main container of which is made form glass, steel, or similarly hygienic material suitable for contact with foodstuffs, of which the internal diameter of the pot, fits in dose tolerance to the external diameter of the base plate. The base plate is used to extract material from the pot after use.
- 10 The base plate is able to hinge, allowing under gravity its component parts to collapse dropping waste matenal from its support.
- 11 The lid contains retractable levers which activate the pins; the pins when pressed into the circumference of the skirt seal it in place against the pot circumference.11 The base plate is able to hinge, allowing under gravity its component parts to collapse dropping waste material from its support. The base plate moves to a'collapse'position when acted upon by a switch, lever, spring, pressing or other controlled action, actioned by an operator. The hinge returns to a'normal horizontal''position when the positive action of a control mechanism is released.12 The base plate will return to rest which is perpendicular to the plane of the concentric pipes. Stocks on the base plate prevent the plate from moving out with the horizontal or an arc extending downwards from the horizontal and away from the concentnc pipes.13 The concentnc pipes are fixed at specific positions etched into their length by pins, spnngs or locking devicesinto specific positions, set into recesses of the concentric pipes. Springs and catches will activate the locking pins to set the concentric pipes to pre-determined lengths. In order to assist the measurement of particle amounts for infusing with water.14 The pipes may be telescopically extended to a full length, allowing the base plate, depression filter and lid to be at, maximum distance, locking pins may hold it there to facilitate the loading of coffee.<Desc/Clms Page number 3>Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows1 A press mechanism which comprises of concentric pipes attached to which are plates the lower of which hinges.2 A press mechanism which comprises of two plates secured to interlocking concentric pipes which are capable of locking at different positions along their length.3 A press mechanism which contains a central pin which travels through the centre of the concentric pipes which is capable of activating and deactivating a lockable hinge; the hinge running along the centre line of the lower plate.4 A spring mechanism contained within the lower plate assembly which returns the lower plate to a horizontal position.5 A press mechanism which is capable of being lifted from a beverage container; and by movement of the central pin activates the hinge and allows the waste from the brewing process to be dropped and disposed of.6 A device which has perforations in the plates to allow the free flow of liquids and is sufficiently designed to contain solid materials from the brews.7 The lid of the pot has opening to allow the pipes to pass through it but engineered of sufficient tolerance to prevent the free flow of liquid.8 The lid is designed to include a hinged cover for a spout, the spout has a guide along which a bar may run; the bar when pushed forward will prevent the spout from opening 9 The spout has a seal extending for the lid of the spout which seals the spout when the lid is pressed closed.10 The lid has a skirt extending from its circumference; the skirt fits into the inner circumference of the container, pins are pressed into the circumference of the skirt from the lid.
