Abstract

The invention relates to a device for protecting wires (5) in lifting operations or other uses comprising use of a noose, the wire end comprising an end loop (6). The protection device (1) has a circular cross section relative to the first axis and a centrally positioned, axial opening with a least radius exceeding the wire outer radius, and also comprises a groove (2) extending around its cross section being adapted to receive the end loop (6) of the wire, the groove (2) having a width exceeding the wire diameter and a chosen depth so that the radius of curvature in the bottom of the groove essentially corresponds to the minimum radius of curvature of the end loop.
