Abstract

235,316. Bagley, C. H. F. March 14, 1924. Metal pipes and tubes.-In a blast furnace, in order to maintain the temperature of the hot blast, heat insulating material is applied to the water-cooled tuyere e and to the removable blowmain. This takes the form of a lining c, or coating d or both, for the blow-pipe and elbow and a lining g fom the tuyere, refractory non-conducting material being used, such as fire-clay, china-clay, asbestos, silicate, or other enamel or cement.
