Abstract

235,081. Barnett, W., and Florendine, J. Nov. 7, 1924. Universal joints of the kind comprising a sphere 4, Fig. 3, on one shaft 3 inside a divided internal sphere 6 on the other shaft 7, the spheres being connected by members 9 which pivot in recesses in one sphere and slide in arcuate slots 8 in the other. The intermediate members 9 are shaped as shown in the other figures with a hemispherical part 1 for the pivoted movement. The part 2 which slides is semi-cylindrical, triangular, or rectangular.
