Abstract
A tent-like nylon or PVC cover is mounted on a frame of bars (2, Fig 3) which pivot at 3 to allow the frame to collapse concertina fashion. The whole cover is placed directly on a clothes line and held in place by clothes pegs 7. Eyelets 4 along the ridge allow the cover to sit over clothes pegs already on the line.
Description
RAIN COVER
This invention relates to a rain cover for clothes washing lines. It will be made in 3 different lengths, 2-3-4 metres.
Rain covers are different types for all different reasons, but because of our wet climate housewives can normally only dry clothes for approx 3 out of every 7 days.
The all weather rain cover will allow clothes to dry even on the wettest days. It will be easy to fold into a concertina effect when not in use, at one end of a clothes line, and also just as easy to open over clothes pegs holding clothes onto the line as it will be very light.
The rain cover will be made of metal or plastic and it will be covered in nylon or PVC or from a combination of all or some of these materials, each of the swivel points will be bolted, or rivetted, or similar to allow ease when opening, or closing. The cover will be fixed to the frame by means of glue, screw or stiches or a combination of all these, as example of the invention will be described by way of a drawing of : Fig 1 Shows the end view of the rain cover.
Fig 2
Shows top view with eyelets for clothes pegs No 4 and swivel points No 3.
Fie 3 Shows rain cover closed to one side of the line with pegs No 7 holding it in closed position.
Fig 4 Shows the rain cover fully opened with pegs No 7 holding it onto the clothes line. No 4 shows eyelets for clothes pegs to sit through.
Fiel No 1 shows approx 45'angle.
No 2 shows vertical bar 600cm long.
Fie 2
Illustrates the open version top view with swivel points shown as No 3 No 4 shown as eyelets for clothes pegs to sit through. No 5 shows width between each vertical bar as 500cm when opened.
Fie 3 Shows the closed version to one side of the line, the width between each vertical bar No 2 when closed would be approx 40cm when in open position, or closed No 6 would be approx 250cm.
Fie 4 Shows rain cover fully opened over clothes line No 7 shows clothes pegs to hold rain cover in position.
Claims (4)
