Abstract
The tax disc includes a cental data area which can be adhered to a vehicle window. Perforations around the data area cause separation of the adhered data portion if removal of the disc is attempted. The data area may be attached by double-sided adhesive tape or glue.
Description
We have got to come up with an idea to combat thieves stealing Road Tax Discs. This will prevent peoples property being damaged, the loss of their no claims, having to ring the police asking for a criminal number, causing more paperwork for them, saving the insurance companies money, having to deal with duplicates from the DVLA, costing more money, getting prices for repairs thus causing more problems.
This is what I have come up with:
By making a block on the Road Tax perforated around the numbers, such as on the glass side by placing double sided clear tape across the number. When stuck on if anyone tries to take it off, it would leave the middle of the Tax missing which would make it void.
Another idea would be to have clear glue across the numbers, and when licked would stick on the glass. Again it wouldn't be able to be removed from the glass without destroying it.
If the windscreen is smashed the Road Tax should be able to be redeemed or a duplicate disc issued by sending the remains.
If selling the vehicle then the Road Tax can be sold along with the vehicle or a refund available when the remains have been sent back. On the back of the Road Tax is a serial number and the registration number.
Claims (3)
- CLAIMS 1. A vehicle Licensing Disc with perforation around the date area located on the disc as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
- 2. A disc as stated in claiml has the area inside the perforation fitted with some adhesive material so as to adhere to the window.
- 3. A disc as stated in claiml to have a serial number and also the vehicle registration number.
