Abstract

A container cap (of the screw on type) consists of two parts, the inner part, which screws on or off the container, and the outer part which can be rotated freely round the inner part. The inner part is grooved at the top and the outer part is slotted at the top, both the groove and slot can then be lined up with a coin edge and the inner an then be screwed on to or off from the container. When the inner part is screwed tightly on to the container the outer part will just rotate freely and the only way to release the inner part is by using a coin edge (or similar) screw driver fashion through the lined up slot and groove. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Container safety cap Purpose The Container Safety Cap is designed in such a way as to provide a method of keeping the contents of the container, medicines, pills and harmful liquids etc. safely inaccessable to small children and also as a reminder of the fact that a container with this type of Safety Cup on it, contains productes which should be treated with careful attention.
Design The Container Safety Cap is of the screw on type and consists of two main parts, the inner part being the screw cap which screws on to the container and the outer part, which is the screw cap outer shell cover, the outer shell cover is closely fitted to the screw cap and can not be seperated from it, but it can rotate freely around it.
The screw cap has a grooce in the top which is just deep enough to allow a coin edge (or similar) to be inserted into the groove, thus allowing enough purchase to turn the screw cap in either direction.
The outer shell cover has a slot in the top which allows access for a coin edge or similar to become firmly seated in the screw cap top groove, the coin edge (or similar) could then be used (screw driver fashion) to turn the Container Safety Cap in either direction, the lining up of the screw cap groove and the outer shell cover slot would be self locating.
Method To firmly close the Container Safety Cap, put Safety Cap on container and using coin edge (or similar) insert same into slot and groove and turn Safety Cap (screw driver fashion) until the screw cap is nipped up tightly on the container, the outer shell cover can then be freely rotated, but the screw cap will remain firmly closed and can only be released by re-inserting coin edge (or similar) and turned in the reverse direction.
Drawings Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4, show a cut away side view and a downward view of 1, the screw cap 2, the screw cap outer shell cover 3, the combined screw cap and screw cap outer shell cover assembly and 4, a final drawing of the screw cap assembly, Container Safety Cap) in position on the Container, For drawings please see page three.
Thankyou.
1. The container safety cap is specifically designed to provide difficult access to the contents of the container to young children.
2. The container safety cap is made up of two inseperatable parts 1, the screen cap 2, the screw cap outer shell cover.
3. The screw cap is grooved at the top and the screw cap outer shell cover is slotted at the top in such a way that it can be lined up with the screw cap groove.
4. The screw cap and its outer shell cover is then placed on the container and the groove and slot lined up with a coin edge and then screwed or unscrewed on to the container.
5. When the screw cap is tightly screwed on to the container the outer shell cover will rotate freely in either direction whilst the screw cap remains tight.
6. The screw cap can only be released by being unscrewed with a coin edge being inserted through the lined up slot and groove then turned until screw cap is seperated from container.
