Moulds; casting processes. -Ingot moulds with detachable, refractory - -lined feeding heads b are fitted with diaphragms d, which may be slit to facilitate their destruction bv the molten metal. The feeding heads may have a closed top. When the metal is poured from above the diaphragm has a central aperture to pass the stream.
