211,511. Haarmann, E. Feb. 19, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Junction pieces; with valves.-The flow of fluid from hydraulic or compressed air mains b to a branch pipe is controlled by a plug valve g positioned in a junction piece a mounted between flanges e on the main pipe and provided with a branch piece p for connection to the branch pipe or hose. The valve is disposed in a bore h, which is closed at its lower end by a screw plug i, and the valve rests on a helical spring or spring washer k supported in a groove j, in order to secure a fluid-tight joint. A screw-down valve may replace the plug valve. The connection piece p is tapered and provided with a coupling member t; or it may be screw-threaded. The junction piece a is preferably provided with one or more screw-threaded bores q normally closed by plugs and adapted for connection with piping, and a number of connection pieces p, controlled by one valve, may be provided thereon.
