Abstract
210,581. Mumford, E., Mumford, F., and Mumford, W. H. Dec. 8, 1922. Smoke, preventing and consuming.-An aqueous solution of calcium chloride is sprayed over the fuel on a furnace grate to minimize the evolution of smoke. In practice the solution consists of one pound of calcium chloride dissolved in 5 gallons of water. Nitrate of sodium or potassium may also be added to the solution.
