Implements with. means for separating stones, or for treating or delivering soil; adjusting and lifting parts; tools.-Soil, weeds, roots and the like lifted by a scoop 32 are delivered by a double set of elevators 29, 30 to crushing-rollers 27, 28 and thence pass through a delivery shoe 26 to vertically reciprocating screening devices 20, 21. The scoop 32 may be lifted by a hand lever 39 to which it is connected by a bent pivoted arm 35 and links, the arm 35 being adapted to be pivoted in any one of a series of holes 36 in a vertical hanger on the machine frame. The elevator side-casing members 33 are secured to the frame at 41 and are also hung by chains 42 at their forward ends. A hand-lever 43, connected by a link 44 with a bell-crank 45, adjusts the frame 46 of a forward castor wheel and a second lever 70, connected by a link 71 with a skeleton frame 14, 15 on the) rear portion of the frame, can be actuated to maintain this portion of the machine in correct working position despite alterations in the slope of the ground. The material after passing between the rollers 27, 28 is delivered bv the shoe 26 on to a floor of slats 23 along which it is moved by cross-members 23a on conveyer chains and through which the majority of the material falls on to the screens 20, 21. The larger stones and some of the weeds are carried to the end of the slatted floor 23 and thence fall to the ground, and the smaller stones and weeds move down the screens and fall into a tiltable box 47 controlled by a cord 49, while the fine soil falls through the screens to the ground. The elevators, rollers and conveyer are actuated by chain-and-sprocket gear from a countershaft 56 driven from the axle of the rear wheels and the screens are rocked bv rods connected to cranks on a longitudinal shaft 67 driven through bevel gearing from the axle.
