Abstract

A disc-shaped filter element made from filter material in web form folded into parallel pleats 1b, has a ring of adhesive 2 on both faces. Each ring 2 of adhesive is arranged at a small distance from the elements circular periphery 1a. The rings 2 of adhesive are applied to the edges 1b of the pleats of the filter element so that substantially no adhesive enters the pockets 1c formed by the pleats, the rings of adhesive holding the adjacent pleats in a preset position. The discs are cut out after the rings of adhesive have been applied to both sides of a folded web of filter material. <IMAGE>
