Abstract

The insulating covering body for ceilings and walls comprises a cover layer 1 of refractory material having an open structure and metallic or metal containing layer 2 serving as a thermal conductor and heat reflector to distribute heat and at the same time reflect heat through the open parts of the cover layer. The metallic layer is preferably an aluminum foil which may be perforated and the cover layer a glass fibre fabric. The two layers may be supported on a base layer 3 of foam material, glass- fibre or glass wool and may exhibit a relief pattern. <IMAGE>
