Abstract

Cooling apparatus has a freezer unit (4) associated with a storage chamber and one part (9) of the freezer unit is held at a lower temperature than the remaining part (10) of the unit so that frost adheres to the part of the unit having the lower temperature. In a refrigerator having a freezing compartment and a cooling compartment, the freezing compartment has a freezer unit (4) with evaporator portions (9, 10) attached to the body (8) of the unit. The evaporator portions (9, 10) and an evaporator in the cooling compartment are connected in a compression- condensation system controlled so that the two evaporator portions are maintained at different temperatures. <IMAGE>
