Abstract

A hairdryer 200 comprises a handle 204, a body 202 comprising a duct 282, a fluid flow path 280 extending through the duct 282 and a primary fluid flow path 260 extending at least partially through the body 202. A fan unit 250 is provided for drawing the primary fluid flow through the primary fluid inlet 220. A further fluid flow is drawn into the hairdryer through the flow path 280 by fluid emitted from the primary flow path 260. An attachment 100, which may be in the form of a nozzle, is attachable to the hairdryer so that it protrudes from the front end of the body 202, and adjusts at least one parameter of the fluid emitted from the hairdryer (e.g. the shape, profile, direction, orientation, flow rate and/or velocity). The attachment 100 is preferably attached to the hairdryer by insertion into the duct 282 through the fluid outlet 290. It may be retained in the duct 282 by means of friction.
