Abstract
An electrically powered apparatus for mist generation comprises a chamber 1 containing nebulising means 10, and a means 4, 3 of dispersing the mist from the chamber, wherein the apparatus further comprises (i) means 6 of pumping the liquid product between a separate container 7 and the mist generating chamber 1, (ii) an automatic device 19 for controlling liquid level, (iii) means 10 for generating a compression wave in the liquid, (iv) a skirt 15 for reducing particles above 15 microns in diameter and (v) a positive pressure means above the liquid in the chamber. Preferably, a piezoelectric transducer 10 vibrates to atomise the liquid, while a blower 5 via air inlet conduit 4 provides the positive pressure which subsequently blows the mist out via harvesting conduit 3. A pump 6 preferably reverses the circulation of the liquid solution when the nebulising is completed. The air outlet / harvesting tube 3 may leave the chamber at an angle to the horizontal.
