Abstract

A container consists of a container body (fig 1, ref 2) including a metal or metal alloy wall 6, and a neck (fig 1, ref 4) defining a mouth. The neck (4) includes an inner wall, which is part of the metal or metal alloy wall 6, and an outer wall 8 attached to the inner wall at a rim of the mouth. A thread is formed in the outer surface of the outer wall 8 of the neck (4). The container body (2) is formed using a stretch technique, and the metal alloy neck 4 is formed separately, preferably using a technique other than the stretch technique, for example a water expansion technique. The container may include a lid 20 having a layer of non-plastics material formed on an inside surface thereof. The lid 20 may include also include a non-plastics, e.g. silicone, sipper. Preferably the container (1) is put to storing drinks. It is an aim of the invention to prevent potable liquids coming into contact with plastics, and prevent them being contaminated with bisphenol-A (BPA).
