Abstract

A ligature instrument for binding a haemorrhoid by placing an elastic ring therearound includes a tube 15 with a suction cup (14, 17) at one end around which the ring can be positioned. Means (4) are provided to apply suction to the end of the tube remote from the cup and means (7, 14) are provided to displace the ring off the suction head to around the haemorrhoid. <IMAGE>
