Abstract

In growing plants from seeds it is envisaged to use trays moulded from two moulds. From one mould is formed a germination tray 1 in which seeds may be germinated, and a combination tool. From the other mould is formed a growing tray 6 and preferably a cover. Into open-ended wells 4 in the germination tray are placed a growing medium and into the growing medium are placed seeds which are allowed to germinate in the germination tray. Into larger wells 7 in the growing tray are placed further growing medium and the combination tool is used to form depressions into which is transferred from the wells in the germination tray the growing medium containing the germinated seeds. The combination tool may also be used inverted to cover the germination tray during germination of the seeds and the cover may be used to protect the seedlings growing in the growing tray. In addition the combination tool may be used to remove from the wells of the growing tray the growing medium and the grown plants therein. <IMAGE>
