Abstract

Novel omega -mercapto propionamides of the general formula (I> <IMAGE> (in which R is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, aryl lower alkyl or an aryl radical, R2 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower cycloalkyl radical, Z is a sulphur atom or a sulphoxide or a sulphonyl group, R3 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl radical, m is 1 or 2, n is 1 or 2, p is 0, 1 or 2, and X is a hydroxy, lower alkoxy or an amino group) have an important anti-hypertensive action and accordingly may be made up with suitable carriers into pharmaceutical preparations which advantageously may also contain diuretic agent and/or vasodilators.
