Abstract

A rail fastening assembly for use at rail joints comprises an anchor 24 having a base portion 25 adapted to be attached to a tie with head portion 26 projecting adjacent one side of the rail, and a plate 31 having one end portion adapted to engage an insulated pad 28 on one flange of the rail and an opposite end portion adapted to engage the tie to which the anchor is attached. A U-shaped spring clip 35 has one leg adapted to be driven through a bore in the head portion of the anchor with another leg of the clip positioned on the top surface of the plate to bias the plate against the rail flange and tie to hold the rail in place. <IMAGE>
