Abstract
Energy converting apparatus 2 comprising a combustion chamber 4, a pipe arrangement 8 which is positioned in the combustion chamber and in which water is converted to steam in use of the apparatus, steam bleed-off means 20 connected to the pipe arrangement, steam re-circulating means 22 for re-circulating steam from the pipe arrangement back to the combustion chamber for dissociation into hydrogen and oxygen, preheat means 26 for pre-heating the combustion chamber, and feed means 28 for feeding pulverised coal to the combustion chamber. <IMAGE>
