Abstract

A lid and seat for a lavatory pan 2 comprises a lid 1 pivoted at 4 on two spaced apart parallel lugs 5 formed on the supporting seat 6, and two spring- loaded pistons 8 mounted on the seat lugs 5 and opposed to each other to form retractable hinge pins engaged in holes in a central mounting portion (13) of or attached to the pan 2. Each hinge pill 8 has a protruding peg 10 by which it can be retracted to allow removal of the seat and lid. <IMAGE>
