Abstract

A new class of thiourea derivatives of the formula, <IMAGE> wherein R1, and R2, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C3-C5 alkenyl, benzyl, phenyl, adamantyl or tricycloundecyl, provided that when either R1 and R2 is adamantyl or tricycloundecyl, then the other is hydrogen or one of aforesaid groups other than adamantyl and tricycloundecyl, or R1 and R2, together with the adjacent nitrogen atom, form piperidene or pyrrolidene, each of which may be substituted with hydroxy, which are useful as antiviral agents, are prepared by reacting 3- isothiocyanate-4-homoisotwistane with a compound of the formula, <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 are as defined above.
