Abstract
A marine fender (1) comprising an elastomeric element 2, 11 extending from its berthing face in a direction along which there acts a load due to a vessel mooring is provided with means for restricting to a given value an elastic bending deformation applied thereto in a direction perpendicular to the load acting direction. Bending of the element takes place about a groove 17, 8 until the element contacts a resilient or rigid abutment, 11, 2'. <IMAGE>
