Abstract

Apparatus for calculating and displaying a value, for example, the cost of a telephone call, which is dependent upon time and a second parameter, includes a clock and a calculator, which is instructed to compute the value according to particular data selected from a store of second parameter information and elapsed time determined by the clock. The value is continuously up-dated during the time period and it can be held at a given point in time, for example at the end of a telephone call, in a display. When the value is no longer required, the display constitutes a digital clock. An alarm signal may be given at a preset time. <IMAGE>
