Abstract

A portable distribution container (1) e.g. kcg is provided which has lifting and support chimes (4 and 5) removably mounted at opposite ends of the container to facilitate replacement in the event of damage. The chimes are of flexible plastics, rubber or a mixture thereof to cushion the container against damage and to reduce noise during handling. The chimes may be attached to the container by interengaging ribs or flanges and recesses with or without additional clamping bands, by screws, by pins which extend from the container and pass through the chimes, the pins receiving clamping nuts or being bent over to retain the ring, or by hooks or clips. <IMAGE>
