Abstract

206,753. Berry P., and Thomson, W. Jan. 17, 1923. Stationary batch-mixers with rotary stirrers.-A cooking-utensil 1 is provided with scraping members 13 which scrape the bottom and/or the sides of the utensil and therebv prevent burning of the contents, the scrapers 13 being pivoted at 16 to spring-pressed rods 14 mounted in a frame carried by the central shaft 4. A motor operates the scrapers through a belt 9, pulley 10, worm-gearing 7, 8, shaft 3 and bevel-gearing 5, 6. The shaft 4 is journaled in a beam 2 and is supported by a stud 11. The rods 14 are polygonal in crosssection where they pass through the lower frame member, relative rotation of the scrapers thereby being prevented.
