Abstract

21,648. Brown, S. Sept. 25. Rackets. - The wooden frame A of a tennis or like racket is strengthened by means of a channelled member B of aluminium, or an alloy thereof, which forms a complete ellipse within the frame and may be secured to the wedge by screws. The flanges of the strengthening- member overlap the wedge and lock it in position. The strengthening-member is cut away at the places F for the strings to pass without contact with the metal. A layer of rubber may be interposed between the wood and the metal.
