Abstract

1749. Mower, G. A., and Williams, F. W. R. Jan. 22. Vanning - machines.- In an ore-concentrator having a rigid or flexible table oscillating about a vertical axis, the table, which is preferably circular, is suspended from swinging rods whereby a variable vertical movement is imparted to the table in addition to the horizontal reciprocation. The table B and framework A are provided with brackets C, E, having holes D, F through which are passed freely rods G surrounded by springs N, convex-faced washers L, M, resting in corresponding sockets, being interposed between the brackets and the nuts on the ends of the rods G; or the points of suspension may be provided with knife-edges. The table may be oscillated by an adjustable crank R and toggle levers O, P, the length of the lever P being adjustable, whereby the amount of vertical movement of the table is varied.
