Abstract
11,062. Lurie, C. Oct. 3. Variable-speed toothed gearing for motorcycles comprises a disk J with three rings of teeth K, L, H secured to the hub of the driving road wheel. Bevel-pinions D, F loose on a driving-shaft A are constantly in mesh with the gears K, L, respectively, and are adapted to be engaged alternatively by an intermediate double-ended dog clutch E sliding on a feather &c. on the shaft A. For the lowest speed, power passes to the gear H through a pinion C, which is slidable into and out of mesh therewith upon a square or feathered sleeve B screwed upon the shaft A.
