Abstract
13,532. MuliÚ, W. P. June 25. Drawings to Specification. Tyres, pneumatic &c.-In tyres of the kind comprising an outer cover filled with a resilient composition in which is embedded a number of solid or hollow elastic balls, the number of balls is increased so as to fill the cover completely, the resilient composition being used to occupy the spaces between the balls. The composition may consist of a mixture of glue, gelatine, glycerine, mercury chloride, zinc white, and sulphur, and is pumped in the liquid state into the tyre, where it solidifies. The balls are made of unwashed and unprepared Para rubber and may be solid or hollow, the hollow balls being filled with compressed air, fluids, liquids, or other substances giving a cushioning effect. The material of the solid balls must be of less density than that of the hollow balls.
