Abstract

3311. Jenkins, E. E. Feb. 10. Bolsters; mattresses.-Mattresses and the like are formed in hinged sections to adapt them to be used with bedsteads of varying width. A mattress constructed in this manner, shown in Figs. 3 and 4, comprises a central section a and extensions b, c, d, e of half the thickness hinged together and to the central section at points i. The mattress can thus be arranged in either of the ways shown, or the sections b, d and c, e may be extended in a line with the section a. Bolsters are constructed on the same principle, but are made tapering or wedge-shaped.
