Gagging-appliances. - A gag a for insertion between the teeth of a person in convulsions is provided with a cross-piece c to prevent its being swallowed. The gag may be tapered and inserted in a slot in the guard, as shown, or vice versa, or the gag and guard may be made in one piece. The gag may be of wood or indiarubber and may be provided on the upper or on both faces with recesses d which may be straight, as shown, or curved to fit the teeth.
