Thermal interrupters for limiting the current in an electric circuit are composed of a pair of contacts 1, 2, one of which is mounted on a bimetallic. strip 3 heated by a coil 6 in the circuit to be controlled, the interrupter being contained in a receptacle which is exhausted or filled with an inert gas. The device may be mounted in a lamp-holder.
