Abstract

173,073. Garrett, F. Sept. 23, 1920. Clamping-devices; covers; fastenings. - In document files of the kind in which two hinged covers enclosing the documents are held together at their free corners by two elastic loops, each secured to a cover and slipped over the adjacent corner of the other cover when the file is closed, each loop is detachably secured to a cover by two slits forming two loop-engaging tongues, the line joining the slits extending diagonally across the corner of the cover. The two pairs of slits may both be formed in the cover, or one pair may be formed in each cover. Each slit forming a tongue D may extend from a perforation F in the cover to the edge of the cover as shown in Fig. 3, or to a second perforation B as shown in Fig. 2.
