Abstract
179,828. Warde, C. A. E. May 18, 1921. Benches, work.-A stand for engines and other appliances consists of a rectangular base of tubular members, with elbows at two corners, in which are mounted the feet of two tubular standards forming one side frame, and slidable tubular T-pieces with locking set-screws on the transverse sides of the base in which are mounted the tubular standards forming the second and adjustable side frame, and side frame standards converging upwards and fitting into castings or equivalents, carriers provided with clamping- means being pivoted to the castings. The base a, constructed of tubular members, carries the side frames ff, dd by means of the tubular T- pieces gg and the elbow pieces ee respectively, the former being clamped to the base if required by means of set-screws. The standards ff, dd fit into castings i, to which are pivoted two carriers j, Fig. 7, by means of the bolt k, setscrews l clamping them in position. To the carriers are bolted bearers n of H-section or of two parallel plates with spacing pieces n*, Fig. 7, the parallel plates being horizontal or vertical as is required for bolting the engine or other work to them. The base of the stand is supported by two wheels c and two spherical castors b.
