Abstract
178,868. Pattison, E. W., (Dictograph Products Corporation). Oct. 19, 1920. Keyboard switches.-Relates to selector switchboards, for telephone systems, of the kind comprising a number of keys 16 which can be rocked from the central position in two directions to operate, through a roller 14, a number of spring contact-members 4 and bring them into engagement. Consists in replacing the usual turned insulating spacer used between the spring members to transmit the switching movement by a flat stamped insulating spacer held in place between the strips. As shown in Fig. 3, the spacer has projecting parts 13, which pass through circular holes in the extended parts 6, 8 of two of the strips, and shoulders 12 which engage in transverse crimps in the extension of the strip 8. The hole in the strip may be rectangular and the crimp be omitted, or the spacer may be of H. shape with the parts 20, Fig. 8, engaging cutaway parts 18', Fig. 7, of the strip.
