Abstract
175,162. Waters, M. M. Dec. 29, 1920. Dust distributors.-Inert dust is distributed in coal mines by a fan 1 and a blowing-channel 3 fed by a dust shoot 4 containing a fixed or moving dividing-device for the dust which is fed on to it by a bucket or like conveyer 6. The dividing- device shown comprises a rotary squirrel cage 11, mounted within a fixed squirrel cage 10, but the outer cage may be the moving one, or both may rotate in opposite directions. The moving parts are preferably operatively connected and driven by hand, or from the axle of a trolly or by independent motor-driven mechanism.
