Abstract

174,949. Laue & Co., Ges. Feb. 7, 1921, [Convention date]. Pencil holders.-In pencil holders of the gravity type, an arresting-device is provided for determining the extent of projection of the lead. A lead-container M in the form of a split tube is drawn up into a casing H by a spring D bearing against a collar R, whereby jaws at the lower end of the container are caused to grip the lead. An arresting- device C, in the form of a thin flat spring curved at its lower end, is attached to a sliding finger-piece B which is supported by a weak spring E bearing against the collar R. Depression of the finger-piece first compresses the spring E and projects the arresting-device below the lower end of the container, after which the container descends and allows the lead to drop.
