Abstract

164,171. Walker, J. M. March 19, 1920. Continuous-discharge apparatus with stationary containers.-The lower end of a shoot A for flour, meal, grain, &c. is closed by a pivoted flap B and a slidable plate C. The material is discharged by oscillating the flap B by a rotary cam F, and the discharge is regulated by adjusting the position of the plate C. The material falls on to an inclined jigging-trough L which is suspended by springs Q and operated by a cam N.working in an oil-bath P. The discharge from the trough L is regulated by a slidable door N. If it is desired to mix various materials, such as meals, a shoot is provided for each meal and the materials are discharged into a common worm conveyer W which mixes the materials and conveys them to a cake machine, grinding-machinery, &c.
