Abstract

1537220 Pressure regulator HONEYWELL BV 13 Oct 1977 [14 Oct 1976] 42587/77 Heading G3P A pressure regulator comprises a valve closure member 5 carried by a diaphragm 25 acted on by springs 46, 29 and 30, and a lever 10 acted on by an expansible temperature sensor 17 to act against the bias of the spring 46 to permit the springs 29 and 30 to determine a value of the pressure regulated by the valve 5 which is less than a maximum value set by the spring 46. The regulated pressure is that upstream of the valve 5 and is used to control a main gas supply valve (not shown), the outlet pressure of which acts on the diaphragm 25 in a sense to open the valve 5 (and thus reduce the pilot pressure). Below a temperature which is settable by a knob 22, which moves diaphragm capsule 17 bodily, the valve is held closed by the spring 46 to maintain both the control pressure and the main gas outlet pressure at their maximum values; above that temperature the gas-pressures fall, at a rate determined by the spring 29, to a minimum value determined by the spring 30. Should the temperature continue to rise a blade spring 49 connected to the lever 10 operates a switch 51 to cut off the gas supply.
