Abstract
1535031 Dentifrices containing zinc compounds COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 27 Jan 1976 [17 March 1975] 23689/78 Divided out of 1533634 Heading A5B A dentifrice comprises 7.5 to 75% by weight of calcium pyrophosphate having a mean particle diameter of 1-15Á which has been pre-treated with a non-toxic zinc compound (e.g. zinc chloride, oxide or sulphate) in an amount to provide at least 0.0065% by weight of zinc in the dentifrice, the amount of zinc in the dentifrice being up to 1% by weight. The zinc component is to reduce the enamel abrasivity of the dentifrice. The dentifrice may also contain a soft dental abrasive, e.g. sodium aluminosilicate.
