Abstract
152,759. British Thomson - Houston Co., (General Electric Co.). July 18, 1919. R÷ntgen-ray tubes.-A shield consists of two bell-shaped parts 20, 21 of material such as lead glass which is impervious to R÷ntgen rays, each part having a hemispherical portion and a tubular portion mounted resiliently on arm 3 of the tube. Split washers 30, Fig. 3, of cork are interposed between the parts 20, 21 and the tube, and are secured by annular rings 28 screwed on the tubes. The parts are secured together by steel or rubber studs 26 passing through lugs 24. A window 22 is provided in the shield
