Abstract

1523167 Dip-coating workpieces PRECISION CASTING SYSTEM SA 8 Aug 1975 33159/75 Heading B2L [Also in Division B5] Wax patterns 12 to be dip coated in tank 48 are suspended from an L-shaped arm 28 carried by a carriage 30 reciprocable along a track 34 to a conveyor A from which the patterns are suspended. The arm 28 is rotatable about a shaft 45 by a motor 35 and the patterns are carried by a plate 14 rotatable about a shaft 53 carried at one end of the arm. The shaft 53 is rotated through chain 55 and gearing 51 by a motor 47 located at the other end of the arm to act as a counterbalance. The shaft 53 is carried by an assembly 26 vertically reciprocable along a shaft 20 itself rotatable about a central shaft 10 carried by the carriage. In use, the carriage is driven to conveyor A and the assembly pivoted about shaft 10 to enable the arm 28 to pick up patterns from the conveyor. The carriage then moves back to the tank 48 and the assembly is pivoted to bring the patterns over the tank and lowered to dip the patterns into the tank. During dipping the patterns are rotated via shaft 53 and rocked via shaft 45. After dipping the procedure may be repeated with another tank, and the carriage, assembly, and arm manipulated to return the now coated patterns to the conveyor A.
