1519597 Coated paper and paper board CHAMPION INTERNATIONAL CORP 9 July 1975 28832]75 Heading B2E Paper or paper board is coated on at least one surface with a low density polyethylene resin having a specific gravity of less than 0.93 and a second coating of a high density resin having a specific gravity of at least 0.96 on the outer surface of the low density resin having a thickness of not greater than 0.1 mil while constituting between 1% and 12% by weight of the resin layers, so that the surface static coefficient of friction is intermediate the normal surface coefficient of friction of each of the resins when taken alone. The low density coating may be from 0.2 to 0.5 mil thick and the resin may have a melt point of less than 108‹C. The high density resin may be an ethylene polymer or a highly crystalline polypropylene polymer which has a solubility of less than 5% in boiling heptane.
