Abstract
1511697 Toy construction sets R A PETER 21 Sept 1976 [23 Oct 1975] 43589/75 Heading A6S A toy construction set comprises, in combination, coupling members and link members, wherein the coupling members comprise at least one of each of the following, namely a respective coupling member with two, three. four, five or six stubs projecting from a common base, and wherein the link members are hollow tubes of the same or differing lengths dimensioned so as to be a good fit on or in the stubs of the coupling members, to enable the coupling members and the links to be secured together without the use of additional fastening means or members. Fig. 1 (a) shows a three-stub coupling 10 with stubs 11 extending from a common base 12. Figs. 2(a), 2(b) show a five-stub coupling member. Figs. 3(b) and (4a) show two different two-stub coupling members, Figs. 5(a, b) and 8(a, b) (neither shown) illustrate two different four-stub couplings, the first with all four stubs in one plane and perpendicular to each other, the second with two stubs coaxial and two stubs perpendicular. Figs. 6(a, b) (not shown) illustrate a six-stub coupling member with the stubs all at right angles. Figs. 7(a, b) (also not shown), illustrate another three-stub coupling with three stubs all in a single plane, two being coaxial and the third perpendicular to them. The tubes and studs may be circular in crosssection, or square, rectangular or triangular. The tubes and coupling members may be made of plastics, wood, &c. The tubes may be flexible. The tubes may be coloured, e.g. black, while the coupling members are e.g. white.
