1506578 Lead chromate pigment IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 15 Sept 1975 [30 Sept 1974] 42338/74 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions C3 and C4-C5] A lead chromate pigment which is coated with one or more organic phosphates of the formula wherein R' is alkenyloxy, R<SP>2</SP> is alkenyloxy, hydroxy or a group of the formula M is a hydrogen or a metal which provides a waterinsoluble organic phosphate and n is the valency of M may be prepared by treating an aqueous dispersion of the pigment either wherein M is hydrogen with an organic phosphate of the formula or wherein M is a metal, simultaneously with such an organic phosphate or a water-soluble salt thereof and a water-soluble salt of M.
